Ben & Jerry's Factory TourOutside the quaint town of Waterbury, Vermont, amongst the rolling pastures overlooking the Worcester Range is the sweet tooth's haven, the Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Factory. Ben & Jerry's aimed to enhance their factory by incorporating a place for their customers to observe the manufacturing process of the ice cream, learn about the history of the company, and of course, enjoy some delicious ice cream! This addition to the factory is where MurphyCatton stepped in. The addition is a guided and educational experience involving a movie theater, observation areas to watch the manufacturing process, technology implementations, and a visually appealing renovation for an aesthetic impact, as well as repeated brand imagery. MurphyCatton designed and fabricated the factory's new "Mooovie" theater as the rest stop of the factory tour. The movie shown gives the history of Ben Cohen and Jerry Green, the founders of the company, and the background of the establishment of the Ben and Jerry's Foundation. In addition to the theater, MurphyCatton also developed theming for the messanine, which is the high viewing point for the guests to watch the factory at work making ice cream. A TV is set up in the messanine with an informative video on their production methods. Additional theming is present in the last stop of the tour, in the Flavoroom. |
