| Benefits of Design/Build |
|
There are several benefits to both the client and the design team by bringing in the fabrication team in at the beginning of the project. The first and most important is the collaborative effort that is created by allowing the fabrication team to listen-in and help guide the design efforts. The fabricators don't become part of the team to push ideas on the designers, but rather to incorporate optimum fabrication solutions and materials that adhere to the message of the design.
As experienced fabricators, we listen to the client and the design team to best understand their concepts and goals. This provides us with the understanding necessary to meet the client's desired outcome while being conscious of the budget. As a team, we strive to stay true to the integrity of the design established by the design team and the exhibit and environmental graphics goals set forth by the client. We base our own success on the goals of the client and the outcome of the exhibit or environmental design. We are interested in more than simply building a beautiful exhibit or graphic dispaly; we want to build beautiful exhibits with the ability to withstand time, unexpected visitor counts, and the wear and tear accompanied by over-zealous patrons.
As Master Builders, we want to have the opportunity to put everything into a project that we've spent the last 3 decades perfecting: durable, high-quality exhibit and themed environment fabrication. We understand and support the designers as the creative force that will drive the design intent. With consulting our fabrication expertise early in a project, we can provide the ability to recognize which features need to be addressed to meet safety or maintenance issues. As a team, we take all of these aspects into consideration and implement pertinent fabrication elements into the design phase. The design/build process allows for less redesign and change orders, better overall implemenation of design features and more concentrated effort on meeting deadlines and staying consistent with the budget.
