AgMazing Exhibition, Children's Discovery MuseumAgMazing, sponsored by the Illinois Farm Bureau, opened at the Children's Discovery Museum in Normal, Illinois in November of 2006. This project about the "principles of agriculture" and the "farm of today" is an interactive showcase which allows children of all ages to see the high-tech industry that farming has become while gaining an understanding of the importance of science in its successes. Each exhibit immerses the visitor into the world of the farm. The children can learn about how crops grow and are nurtured with best-practices and scientific manipulation, how we use machines and computers to plant, harvest and process grain into feeds and about the variety of other products made from grain that fuel the economic engines of the world. The "To Be a Crop Detective" exhibit uses deductive reasoning, scientific problem-solving to teach the visitor about crop diseases and pests and is just one example of our interactive wizardry. MurphyCatton mixed proven exhibit design processes with a variety of materials and technological know-how to create a space that truly brings the farm to the city. Back to Children's Environments
