The Forest Discovery Center is dedicated to telling the story of sustainable forestry.  MurphyCatton was selected to provide design/build services for this 26,000 square feet project that includes a life-size diorama of a hardwood forest, a 1,500 square foot gift shop and an 8,000 square foot Room of Discovery packed with interactive exhibits, and a 160p-person movie theatre.  The facility is filled with fine woodwork to showcase the products of Koetter Woodworking, including a large exquisitely-paneled conferencing center.  This woodwork demonstrates MurphyCatton's cabinetmaking skills and it has aided us in being awarded many more projects.  Telling the story of the forest through this exhibit allowed both the contractor and the customer to realize what we can do to teach visitors about the importance of caring for our most renewable resource.  This project took over two years and ranks as one of the most satisfying in Murphycatton's portfolio.  To know that school children are regular visitors and many groups such as the Future Farmers of America are holding their annual conferences at this facility is a testimony to our talents and the vision of the Koetter family.
