MurphyCatton was selected to design and fabricate the additions to the Highlands Museum & Discovery Center.  The museum is a historic facility located in Ashland, Kentucky.  The facility was an older building that began its life as a department store.  The unique setting offers design challeges that include both an architectural treatment as well as interactive exhibits.  The museum is dedicated to Eastern Kentucky local history.  Their collection includes time period clothing, WWII items, and many local stories.  The design work encompasses a layout that can be used as a master plan for future exhibit design.  It also contains architectural components including the admissions desk, gift shop and general introductory exhibits.
