Pretend City Children's MuseumIn late August of 2009, just off the coast of Laguna Beach in Irvine, California, a monumental children's museum was born. MurphyCatton was chosen as the museum's sole fabricator for the exhibition which included 28,000 square feet of interactive exhibit space for children. The idea behind the museum is to give children the opportunity to experience what it would be like when they grow up. Children can become lawyers, firefighters and mailmen. They can be farmers and grow crops, then bring them to the grocery store where they can be sold in the market and checked out at the cash register. Children can bring money to the bank and pretend to take care of eachother as if they were doctors. By immersing children in this elaborate miniature city, the Pretend City/MurphyCatton team has developed an environment that provides a unique, true-to-life and educational experience. |
