The Ohio State University's Athletic Hall of FameMurphyCatton was selected to engineer and fabricate The Ohio State University's Athletic Hall of Fame at the Jerome Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio. This 4,000 square foot exhibit features eight seperate sports vignettes that include storyboards, glass vitrines and interactive lighted display cases. Great sports legends such as Archie Griffin and Jack Nicholas each have a circular display case to house their trophies and memorabilia. Museum artifact climate control, UV glass, lighting and a variety of other unique materials were used to ensure that these story materials will last for years to come. The reason MurphyCatton was chosen for this project was two-fold. We understand the goals of the client and strive to achieve greatness far beyond their expectations, just as the sports heroes of Ohio State have done. Secondly, MurphyCatton brought the ability to hold tight architectural tolerances and consistently produce state-of-the-art contemporary finishes. None of this matters if the exhibit fabricator cannot perform within the architectural/general contractor relationship. MurphyCatton interfaced with contractors seamlessly and succeeded in this challenging environment. |
